Abstract: Patent information is one of the important ways to master the technical layout and development trend of specific technical fields. The Jiangsu crab industry patent technology layout and future development trend was basically mastered by manual indexing method to the protected authorized patent and application in patent examination analysis. The characteristics of protected authorized patent are as follows: 5 areas such as Wuxi, Nanjing, Changzhou, Suqian and Suzhou are the main regional innovation centers in the Jiangsu crab industry, while research institute is the main type of Jiangsu crab industry patentee. The juvenile crab aquaculture process has the highest level of attention in the protected authorized patents. The characteristics of application in patent examination are as follows: 8 areas such as Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou, Changzhou, Yancheng and Huai'an will be the potential regional innovation center of Jiangsu crab industry technology innovation, while enterprises will become the innovation main body. The innovation field is more focused on the entire industrial chain. It is recommended to promote the construction of the modern aquatic breeding industry in Sheyang Port, strengthen the R & D and use of feed to replace small hybrid fish, and promote the green development model of crab aquaculture to promote the green high quality development of Jiangsu crab industry.
