Abstract: The development of marine animal-derived protein drugs were reviewed in this paper. The sources, structures, pharmacology, molecular targets, current clinical research status and development bottlenecks of dolastatins, conotoxins, sphingomyelin toxins, sponge bioactive peptides, sea anemone bioactive peptides and their analogues, as well as derivatives were summarized, in order to provide broad perspective for the development of powerful, stable and novel marine drugs.
