Abstract: Based on the google image data of different years, this paper made a comparative analysis of the shoreline changes in Huotongxi Estuary area using GIS technology. Combined with the numerical model analysis，it was considered that the reclamation of estuarine tidal flat wetland was the main reason for the change of shoreline in Huotongxi Estuary area. It is suggested that reasonable planning should be made in the future to reduce manual intervention on the shoreline.
