Abstract
A gas chromatohraph-mass spectrum (GC - MS) method was established for determination of the butyl acrylate in seawater and shellfish. The butyl acrylate were extracted by petroleum ether, then dried by anhydrous sodium sulfate, and analyzed by GC - MS. The pretreatment and chromatographic conditions were optimized. Identification was achieved by Electron Ionization mode ( EI ) using select ion monitoring (SIM). Under the optimal conditions, good linearities were obtained for butyl acrylate in the range of 0.01-10.00 mg/L. The quantification was performed with internal standards. The average recoveries of added test in sea water and shellfish from 0.01 mg/L to 1.00 mg/L and from 0.10 mg/kg to 10.00 mg/kg were 104.2 % and 91.8% respectively . The relative standard deviations (RSD) were less than 7. 53 %. The limits of detection were 0.001 mg/L for butyl acrylate in sea water, and 0.01 mg/kg for butyl acrylate in aquatic products. The method was suitable for the determination of butyl acrylate in seawater and shellfish with high extraction efficiency.
