The correlation analysis in four reproduction traits of Whitmania pigra

The number of 500 Whitmania pigras were chose as samples randomly. We made a statistical analysis on 4 traits of Whitmania pigras including body weight,cocoon weight, cocoon number, emergence rate by using SPSS 13 software package in the bivariate correlation analysis (Bivariate) program. By the correlation analysising between Whitmania pigras body weight,cocoon weight, cocoon number and emergence percentage, we found that the correlation coefficients were 0.8697, 0.9351and 0.6972, respectively,showed a highly significant positive correlation. The correlation coefficient between the number of cocoon and egg cocoon weight was -0.563, showing highly significant negative correlation. At the same time, the correlation coefficient between the egg cocoon weight and cocoon seedling number, the number of egg cocoon and cocoon seedling number were 0.8172, 0.4873, respectively,both showing positively related. The average fecundity, average egg weight, average seedling number of 20~30 g Whitmania pigra which was the most suitable provenances were 2.78 individual, 2.24 g and 32.48g, respectively.
