Marine management of 3D Visualization System design and implementation based on SkyLine

    • Through the virtual expression of the marine environment state, the ocean phenomena and processes, and the three-dimensional simulation of real satellite images in development and utilization of ocean, we can easily understand and manage the ocean in a visual manner which has been developed into an effective means of development, utilization and protection of the ocean. This article, taking marine management visualization system research and development in Fujian province for example, studies the ocean management programs including 4 types of data and their characteristics, as well as the need for the application of three-dimensional visualization technique in marine management. The paper also introduces the SkyLine modeling and the realization, architecture and implementation of three-dimensional visualization tool principles, and probes into the key technology and implementation process of visualization system development in ocean management. Based on actual needs of ocean management, the system contains three-dimensional map operation, basic information, coastline, islands, sea utilization, marine resources, marine environment, marine disasters, socio-economic and statistical analysis modules. It realizes the visualization management in the development and utilization of marine resources, and the prevention and reduction of marine disaster.
