Effects of feeding frequency on feeding and growth of juvenile FFRC
-
Abstract
The effects of four different feeding frequencies ( 1,2,3 or 4 times per day ) on the feeding and growth of juvenile FFRC were studied within 30 days. The results showed that the feeding rate was increased with the increasing of feeding frequency. The feeding rate of group of 1 time feeding frequency per day was lower than that of other groups. When feeding frequency was increased, body weight/length gain ratio and specific growth rate were also increased, and both of them reached the highest when feeding 4 times daily .However, feed conversion efficiency was increased when frequency was increased, the lowest occurred in 1 time group daily . With the gradually increasing of feeding frequency from once daily to 4 times daily, individual differences of fish body weight/length dwindled down, specifications of juveniles tended to uniform .Therefore it indicated that feeding frequency had obvious effects on the feeding and growth performance of FFRC,and the feeding level, growth performance, feed conversion efficiency and size differentiation coefficient showed better state in the 4 times/d feeding frequency.
