Abstract:
Tetrodotoxin is an extremely toxic alkaloid that is highly stable and hydrophilic. The source of tetrodotoxin is not known, but evidence suggests that tetrodotoxin may arise from a combination of external and microbial sources.Tetrodotoxin possesses specific nerve-blocking properties and therefore there is great interest in the development of tetrodotoxin in the field of clinical and neurological research.Tetrodotoxin has great research value. On the one hand, based on the enrichment and tolerance characteristics of tetrodotoxin we can develop detoxification reagents, and on the other hand, tetrodotoxin can be used as a sodium channel blocker to develop new drugs for neurological treatment.Future research on tetrodotoxin can further investigate its enrichment, tolerance mechanism, improvement and enrichment applications. In this paper, we intend to give an overview of the physicochemical properties, sources, enrichment and tolerance of tetrodotoxin and the progress of tetrodotoxin application research, aiming to provide a reference for improving the tetrodotoxin research.
