Abstract: Since Shanmei Reservoir was ratified as an important source of drinking water in Quanzhou City, the fish cage culture industry were completely cleared up, and the traditional fishing method with three layers fishing net was reformed. In this paper, 30 setting-nets were flexible installed with a single or 2~3 cages inverted staggered series by the topography, fish catch and food organism in Shanmei Reservoir. There were 529.5 tons of fish catch harvested in 2011, and the average annual output was 17.65 tons per case, the maximun was 51.3 tons per case.376.4 tons of the fish production was caught in the production season which was from May to July, and accounting for annual fish production 71.08%.The new fishing method for reservoir characteristics was established in Shanmei Reservoir.
