Abstract： In order to improve the nursery culture technique of Ruditapes philippinarum, a survey for the juvenile growth and environmental parameters was carried out at Weitou Bay of Jinjiang, Fujian Province, China. From January to April, 2019, the water temperature increased while the salinity gradually decreased, both were within the suitable range. Diatoms dominated the phytoplankton, with a density of 5 100 cells/L in January and 8 300 cells/L in April. The shell length of juveniles increased from (2.33±0.75) to (11.14±2.52) mm, but the survival rate was 30.30%. Comprehensive analysis showed that the high death rate might be caused by predators.
