AbstractAbstractEach month from February 2008 to February 2009,the number of fecal coliform bacteria (FCB) in the two major Crassostrea gigas culture area (Xiagong and Jitou) of Luoyuan Bay and its seawater environment were carried out an annual monitoring survey. The survey results show that: the number of FCB in seawater between <20 to 2400 / L, with an average of 400 / L; the number of FCB in Crassostrea gigas between 2300 to 240,000 / kg, with an average 25,030 / kg. The culture area seawater compliance rate was 92.3%, the culture area Crassostrea gigas compliance rate was 26.1%. Seasonal variation: the number of FCB in seawater is summer> spring> autumn> winter; the number of FCB in Crassostrea gigas is autumn> summer> winter> spring. The FCB pollution is more serious in the two major Crassostrea gigas culture area (Xiagong and Jitou) of Luoyuan Bay .Should be strengthened shellfish products, especially eaten raw shellfish safety listing and promote the governance of land-based sources of pollution
